The free recorder

Record your camera and screen in a browser tab. The file stays in your browser until you save or upload it.

Updated September 24, 2026

Open capme.app/studio and record, signed in or not. Nothing is uploaded: the recording stays in this browser on this computer.

It works like the recorder in meetings: camera, screen or both, and you can record again or trim.

Saving the file

Save to device downloads the video. If you aren't signed in, Capme first asks for your work email and sends you a six-digit code. After that the file is yours, and it still isn't uploaded.

Discarding a recording can't be undone, because it only exists in your browser.

Keeping videos online

With Solo, you can upload up to 50 videos and share them with a link. Uploading moves the video: the copy in your browser is removed. In a company workspace, Make this a meeting turns a recording into the start of a meeting.

Browsers

Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers support every recording mode. Other browsers can still record, and the page tells you when yours might not record cleanly.
