When recording or playback doesn't work
Camera and microphone access, screen sharing, an upload that won't finish, and a video that doesn't play.

Camera or microphone blocked
If the recorder says Camera or microphone access is blocked, your browser has refused access. The recorder shows the steps for your browser. In Chrome and Edge, click the icon to the left of the address, allow camera and microphone, and reload the page.
If another app such as a video call is using the camera, close it and try again. If the request takes too long, reload the page.
With no microphone, the recorder warns you that the recording will have no sound.
Screen sharing
If you cancel the browser's window for choosing a screen, sharing simply stays off. On macOS, the browser also needs permission for screen recording in System Settings, under Privacy & Security.
If recording won't start at all in your browser, use Chrome or Edge.
An upload that won't finish
The upload retries by itself while the tab is open. If it still fails, the review screen says Upload failed, and pressing Send to the meeting tries again.
If you closed the tab, your take is still in this browser. Open Videos, where it shows as Unfinished, and press Save to cloud. Then open your topic, press Record and choose Use an existing video.
If your workspace records into its own bucket and uploads fail while the connection test passes, the bucket's CORS policy is usually the cause. Connect your own bucket shows what it needs.
A video that doesn't play
A video that says it is on its way is still being converted. That takes a few minutes, and the page updates by itself when it is ready.
If a topic still has no video long after its speaker sent one, ask them to record it again while the meeting is unpublished. If that doesn't help, write to hello@capme.app with the meeting's link.
