Record your topic
Camera, screen or both, one take, and what happens between pressing stop and your video being in the meeting.
Updated September 27, 2026
Open the meeting from your invitation and press Record next to your topic. You need to be a speaker to record. If you aren't one yet, the page lets you ask an admin.
Recording
Two switches at the bottom turn the camera and screen sharing on and off, and you can change either during a take. A countdown runs before recording starts. On a phone there is no screen sharing.
The clock shows how long you have been talking against the length the organiser asked for. It turns amber near the end and red when you go over, and it never stops you.
After you stop
You see the take, and it starts uploading in the background right away. Nobody sees it until you send it. From here you can:
- Send to the meetingYour video goes into your topic. That's all you need to do.
- Record againStart over. The previous take stays in your browser.
- Cut the ends offTrim the start and end. The trimmed version replaces the take, and the upload starts again.
- Save to deviceDownload a copy, in the More menu next to Discard.
A single recording can be up to 120 minutes long.
Uploading
Keep the tab open until the upload finishes. If the connection drops, it picks up where it left off. If it fails for good, the screen says so and Send to the meeting tries again.
Your take is saved in the browser while you record, so closing the tab doesn't lose it. When recording or playback doesn't work explains how to send it afterwards.
Still processing
On Capme hosting, a video is converted after the upload, which takes a few minutes. The meeting shows it as almost ready in the meantime and updates by itself when it can play. There is nothing left for you to do.
Until the organiser publishes the meeting, you can replace your video with Record again on your topic. The new take replaces the old one, which is deleted.
