How people join your workspace

Choose who can add people to your workspace, and whether colleagues at your company's domain can join on their own.

Updated September 28, 2026

You set this in Workspace → Access, under How people join. There are three options, and only owners and admins can change them.

The three options

  • Admins add peopleNobody gets in unless an owner or admin adds them. A new workspace starts with this option.
  • Members can add colleaguesAny member can also add people whose address is at one of your verified domains. They join as viewers. Speakers, anyone outside your domains and anyone an admin removed still need an admin.
  • Anyone at our domain joinsThe first time someone signs in to Capme with an address at a verified domain, they become a member of your workspace. Members can also add colleagues, as in the option above. This option is part of Business and Enterprise, and of the Business trial.

Verifying a domain

The second and third options need a verified domain. To verify yours, sign in with an address at that domain, open Access and claim it under Domains. You don't add a DNS record: signing in with the address already shows that you use it.

You can only claim the domain of the address you're signed in with, so a second domain needs an admin who has an address there. Public mailbox providers such as gmail.com or web.de can't be claimed. Each domain belongs to one workspace, and the first workspace to claim it keeps it.

If you remove your last verified domain, joining by domain switches off.

Viewers and speakers

People who join by domain, and colleagues added by a member, come in as viewers. Viewers are free. The workspace pays for someone once they become a speaker, and an admin decides that.

If your plan changes

A workspace that uses Anyone at our domain joins and moves to a plan without it keeps the setting. Nobody joins that way until you pick another option or move to Business, and the Access tab tells you so.
